Peter Pilotto

With the release of Peter Pilotto's line for Target the other day I decided to dedicate a whole post to this Label. The designers behind the clothes are Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos. There clothes are brilliantly modern and radiate elegance.  S/S 14 is their sixth collection created together under this label and it is something quite wonderful. So what I was thinking we would do is look at the S/S14 collection and the line for Target because what is better than fashion on a budget.

These were my favourites from the collection...

I adore the patterns they all work so well and are executed so perfectly. The colours also are exactly what Spring and Summer should be about, pastels that are light and beautiful and then also dark oranges and purples, colours of the sunset.

Peter Pilotto's image and style is something I find so unique, the shapes and silhouettes are unorthodox and unexpected!

Now the line for Target...

These pieces are the ones I liked the most and would personally choose. The sunglasses are so amazing, if I could of ordered them online I would of. I am however tempted to order that red dress, the pattern, cut, and colours I just loooooove.

Makeup Review by Saskia x

Today i thought id do a little review for you cuties, a makeup review to be a little bit more specific. It'll be focused on high end products, and if you like the review ill do another on my high street products! It would be too much to do them both in one post, so i chose high end because theres less which means it'll be a nice little taster for you all.
Hopefully it'll help give you guys an idea of whats worth your money and what you might want to avoid. Just cause it costs a lot does NOT mean its worth a lot.

Okay so first up is Rouge Dior lipstick in 999. This little baby costs £20.00/$34.00 (Lucky for me it was a christmas present) Absolute perfection! Stunning colour perfect for almost any occasion, which for me is important. I want to make as much use of my products as possible. I would definitely suggest it, but only if you're really willing to spend. I would definitely say it's worth the money.

Next up we have a blush and an eyeshadow from Bobbi Brown £19.00/$31.06. The blush is pretty but goes on very thickly, if you aren't careful you'll end up a stylish clown. Although that could just be the colour i chose! The eye shadow really doesn't do much for me, i can barely see a difference, i've recently gotten a bit creative and started using it as a subtle bronzer, just to help my cheekbones pop out, its doing the job well but i really wouldn't suggest getting it, not worth the price especially when there are much cheaper and more effective options out there.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation £32.00/$52.31. Wow. I'm so fussy when it comes to foundations, i have about 4 other unused ones in my makeup bag that i used once and just hated! I thought id take a risk and splurge on this Chanel one, and ohh boy am i glad i did! It's worked wonders for me. It goes on smoothly and very liquidy (not a word, i am aware). It blends nicely and doesn't dry your skin out! It also stays on all day which is a miracle. So far its lasted me a couple of months and i don't see it running out soon, soooo worth the money. Its my baby and now iv gone there i can never go back, which is very unfortunate for me and my bank account.

The Bobbi Brown Lash glamour extreme £19.00/$31.06. Theres nothing particularly special about this mascara, it does the same job as most high street brands. Some high street brands may even do a better job at lengthening and thickening. Although it does last a while and doesn't clump at all which really redeems it for me. However i do think that £19 is a bit of a stretch for what it is and what it does! Sorry Bobbi.

Bobbi Brown lip gloss in Aubergine 5 £18.00/$29.42. No no no no no nonononnfjdonfjan oh lorrddd. This is the stickiest, messiest and most uncomfortable lipgloss ever! Put it on your lips and prepare for a whole other kind of coverage (by this i mean you'll have everything from hair to flies trapped on your lips) it seriously feels like you've slathered your lips in wax which is not ideal for anyone who has any sense of comfort. However the colours are nice, and my mum loves them so it might just be me. But you guys can go and try it out for yourselves, just remember i warned you!

These are the colours of the lipsticks i reviewed, the top one being the Dior (The lighting makes it look a lot paler, in reality its a very deep red.) The second being the wax fly trap and the third is actually a Kate Moss one which i didn't add because its not particularly high end and i already had so many things!

Hope you all liked this, and that it helps you with some tough purchasing decisions :)

Interviews

I interviewed a few of my friends about their favourites of the moment, trends they love and their favourite book. (You may need to zoom in a little to be able to read it, I couldn't get the fonts to be any bigger, sorry)

East Side

On the other side of the city in east London is a tiny little scruffy old thrift store. They occasionally have sales, for example once they had a deal where everything was only £, which is kinda insane. Today and for the next four days they are having what they call thriftstock and loads of clothes are in a deal where you pay £10 for a bag and can have whatever you can fit in it. So me and Saskia went down to meet some of my other friends who had gone earlier. We didn't get anything but the others  did. We then walked down to Brick Lane, this is a very quirky part of London, very artsy, there are loads of vintage stores, pop up stores, and markets down there. The area is also well known for the street art that is covering almost all visible spaces. It is just a really cool place to explore, you never know what you will find or what will be going on.

This is Jesse he is super stylish!

I wore my little play suit from Urban Outfitters with a denim button up underneath. I then got a little piece of black ribbon and tied a bow under the collar. Over it I wore my dads junior high sports jackets and my coat but I took it off for the photos. And then finally my hear shaped sunglasses because it was actually a tiny bit sunny today!

Houston we have a problem, Emily is way too hot for this planet!

Sassy looked super Parisian with her strops and Little booties.
Jesse's rad kicks
This the coat Emily bought at the thrift store. She got it for £40 and it is worth like £300. CRAZY
!

Paul Smith Exhibition

At the design musuem in London there is a Paul Smith exhibition running and of course me and Sassy had to go see it! And that is what we did today. It seemed like quite the mission to get to the dang musuem. First of all I was running a little late, then I could not find Sas at Waterloo station, then we were so busy talking we almost missed our stop, well I say almost because Saskia jumped off the tube right as the doors were beeping (the doors beep to let you know there about to close, and when you here that noise and you are about to enter or exit it is the most frightful experience, you run the risk of being smushed between the doors) and she landed safely on the platform.  I however was left on the train as the doors closed I watched Saskia slowly disappear laughing her head off it was an emotional moment for me, I felt like a child being left by their parent on a train. I laughed so hard I nearly peed my trousers, for real. I turned around slowly to face the judging crowd of Londoners expecting the worst, so I was surprised to see them all smile and laugh with me.

well once i got back to Saskia at London Bridge station we had to walk a ways along the Thames. Then by some miracle we made it! Got our cute little pink tickets and went to see the exhibition. Boy oh boy it was totally worth £10. Paul Smith's personality and style is what makes his work come to life the way they do. There was a large display of just some of his collection of prints, photographs, and paintings. It covered the wall from top to bottom and they were all framed in different frames, I thought this was absolutely perfect and now want to frame all of my posters and photographs and hang them all over my walls instead of using crappy old blue tak.

Here are some photos from inside the exhibition.

Afterwards we went for coffees, pasta, smoothies, and yummy little treats! It was a marvelous outing and an incredible exhibition.
But what did we wear you ask, well just continue to scroll and you shall find out.

This was the adorable road that the museum was at the end of. This part of London is fancy shmancy. The road is called Shad Road just so you know.

Hermes S/S 14

Today we're going to talk about Hermes new line for spring and summer 2014! I personally have never been all that into Hermes before but this season is something quite delicious. The whole line is very sharp and put together. There is also a refreshing air about it with the flowy baggy fit and bright colours, and head to toe floral (of course) three things I love. The collection is truly stunning.

and

I would so wear this! It looks so beautiful and free spirited. And of it even looks comfortable.
I respect anyone who wears bright orange! Flawless! Orange is hands down the perfect summer colour.

Adopt bright yellows and oranges into your wardrobe for spring and summer, but also contrast with a touch of nudes, pastels, and soft tones.
Which is your favourite?

That's all for now. TaTa x
